Yes, Hanafuda, the card game we remember our Grandparents playing. The game from the past has gained a new-found interest among the young and old. Hanafuda is a Japanese card game based on image matching in suits built around nature and the seasons. These cards were re-designed by Helen Nakano and her son, featured in the Staradvertiser 9/22/2010 edition. Helen's goal is a re-birth of Hanafuda, bringing generations together, and teaching 1,000 children to "hanafuda". Set of cards at $20.00 each are now on sale at MCC's main office, senior center office, and at the Thrift Store. Each beautiful set of cards includes an instruction/information booklet to help you. What a great Christmas present! Revenue generated helps support the Center's programs and services. Turn off the TV, computer, your cell phone, and any entertainment device that requires batteries or electricity, gather the family together and play HANAFUDA! Chili Sale Stock up on Zippy's chili for those quick fix moments, it not only tastes good but keeps you stress-free during those "I don't know what to make for dinner days". The more chili tickets you buy or sell helps to sustain the programs and services of MCC. |
