Moiliili Community Center (MCC) is a private, non-profit agency organized to serve the needs of people of all ages. It traces its roots to the founding of a Japanese language school in a private home in the late 1800's and the purchase of the present site in 1928. Founded as a council in 1942, it was formally chartered as an association in 1945, and renamed the Moiliili Community Center in 1965.
Our MissionOur mission "enriching our lives and our Moiliili Community" is facilitated by providing the residents of Moiliili and surrounding communities with the support, services, and programs to to enhance individual, family, and community life.
ProfileComprised of a three-story building with 18 multipurpose rooms, the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Building, and the Studio, the Center is in daily use by all generations participating in a variety of programs and activities administered by staff and volunteers. Present programs include: the Japanese Language School (grades K-6); Children & Families program providing after school, holiday and summer child care, waiver and intersession days; Adult Leisure classes; Senior Center program; Elder Care Services, and a Thrift Shop. The Center supports the community by providing rooms in the evenings and on weekends for social and service groups to conduct their meetings and activities. We also have Collectible Items that convey to the community of cultural and historical information.
